Partridge movie: Watch the first trailer

...and find out its title

The first teaser trailer for the Alan Partridge move has been released – along with the official title.

The film will be called Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa and is reported to have the hapless presenter seeking retribution after a global media mogul buys up his radio station North Norfolk Digital and rebrands it as Shape.

The trailer features Partridge and Tim Key’s Sidekick Simon character trying to name the movie.

Writer Neil Gibbons told the Radio Times they wanted the title to be ‘something memorables that felt Alan-y, fitted the tone of the movie, and didn't feel like a clever film spoof or a dull unit-shifter chosen by a marketing department’.

And he said that the original title, Alan Partridge: Shitstorm, ‘was never going to fly’

Steve Coogan last month brought the Norfolk towns of Sheringham town centre and Cromer to a standstill as he filmed chase scenes.

The £4.5million film is being produced by Coogan’s company Baby Cow Productions. The cast includes Felicity Montagu as put-upon PA Lynn, Simon Greenall as Michael, plus Phil Cornwell, Colm Meaney, Nigel Lindsay, Darren Boyd, Sean Pertwee and Dustin Demri-Burns, one half of the Cardinal Burns sketch duo.
