C4 Comedy Gala is back
Channel 4 is to stage its annual fundraising Comedy Gala again this year.
The epic stand-up show will take place in London’s O2 Arena on May 18, and aired later on TV.
Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans, Noel Fielding, Rhod Gilbert, Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross are among the all-star line-up.
Other acts include Adam Hills, Jack Dee, Jason Byrne, Jo Brand,Josh Widdicombe, Kevin Bridges, Paddy McGuinness, Paul Chowdhry, Rich Hall, Seann Walsh and Tom Stade.
The show, produced by the Off The Kerb agency, is now in its fourth year and will raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Tickets are not yet on sale.
The first gala raised nearly £1 million, enabling a new anaesthetic room to be built, and other shows have funded a £5million operating theatre.
- Stewart Lee, Jenny Éclair, Barry Cryer and Phill Jupitus are among the names announced for this year’s Loving Linda benefit in memory of Linda Smith. The gig, at Kingtson’s Rose Theatre on May 12, will raise money for Target Ovarian Cancer. Compere Andy Hamilton said: ‘It is a fitting tribute to my good friend Linda Smith and a great way of raising funds and awareness for one of the lesser known cancers that affects so many women in the UK’.
