Polls close soon

There are less than 24 hours left to vote for your favourite comedians and venues in this year’s Chortle Awards.

More than 7,500 comedy fans have already had their say – yet in the closest-fought categories fewer than 20 votes separate the frontrunners.

In terms of nominations, Stewart Lee, Susan Calman and Pappy’s lead the field, with three apiece. Several comics are up for two awards, which are sponsored by Universal Pictures UK, including Louis CK, Tony Law, Dr Brown, The Boy With Tape On His Face, Richard Herring, Alex Horne’s Horne Section and Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong - whose Channel 4 shows Peep Show and Fresh Meat are both up for the TV award.

Polls close at 10am tomorrow (Wednesday March 6) and the winners will be announced at a central London ceremony on March 25, to be hosted by Jo Brand.
