'Revolution' comes round again
BBC Three has ordered a second series of its political prank show The Revolution Will Be Televised.
The series stars Heydon Prowse and Jolyon Rubinstein, who the BBC describe as being ‘in the great tradition of mischief-makers like Michael Moore, Mark Thomas and Dom Joly’.
Their previous hidden-camera stunts include trying to present George Osborne a GCSE maths book at a City speech, setting up a casino in Barclays HQ, and sticking a Post-It Note saying ‘kick me’ on to Ed Miliband’s back.
The first series, which aired in August and September last year, attracted around 500,000 viewers an episode on first broadcast.
Its second series was announced by BBC Three controller Zai Bennett today, as he launched new schedules and promised: ‘Our mantra of never afraid to try to new things will continue into 2013.’
The only other comedy and entertainment show to be unveiled was Sweat The Small Stuff, a panel game about trivial obsessions hosted by Radio One DJ Nick ‘Grimmy’ Grimshaw with team captains Rickie and Melvin from Kiss FM and regular Rochelle Humes, from The Saturdays. Two series of the show have been commissioned.
No broadcast dates were announced.
