Sharon Horgan lands another US pilot
Sharon Horgan has landed her second American TV pilot in the space of a week.
The ABC network is to make a broadcast pilot of her sitcom Bad Management, about a self-centered female boss of an upmarket store.
Horgan will play the main character in the show, which she co-wrote with Holly Walsh. The pair previously collaborated on BBC Three’s Dead Boss.
The news comes seven days after the same network gave the green light to make a pilot of an American version of Pulling. Although based on Horgan and Dennis Kelly’s original script, this is being rewritten byLee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who wrote the Cameron Diaz film Bad Teacher. However, Horgan and Kelly remain executive producers.
Two years ago, Horgan wrote and co-starred in another ABC comedy pilot, Bad Mom, which didn’t make it to series. But she is known to US viewers for The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, which began its second series on Fox last night.
