Serafinowicz plans stand-up movie
Peter Serafinowicz is writing a film about a stand-up who kills a heckler.
The comic says he plans to star in the film, even though he admits he hasn’t put in enough stage time to be a great stand-up himself.
He said: ‘The thing with stand-up is, I really enjoyed it, but I kind of loathed it as well. It makes me feel physically sick.
‘But when it goes well, which it did a couple of times, it's pretty hard to beat.
I wish I could be better at it. The only way to get better at stand-up is to do loads of gigs and I don't know. I spread myself pretty thin to get the stage time.’
Serafinowicz told entertainment website Digital Spy that his planned stand-up film owes a lot to Martin Scorsese’s King Of Comedy, but has ‘its own weird thing going’, too.
However, the film is likely to be some time coming, as Serafinowicz – who has just published a joke book A Billion Jokes (Part One) – is currently working on another film, this one involving his creation Brian Butterfield..
