Rhys Darby to play Chortle Fast Fringe

Full line-up announced

Rhys Darby is to headline Chortle’s Fast Fringe showcase this month.

The Flight Of The Conchords star, who is taking his show This Way To Spaceship to the Pleasance this August, tops the bill of 28 comedy and variety acts heading to Edinburgh, all presenting three-minute extracts from their show.

Other big names include fellow Kiwi The Boy With Tape On His Face, ventriloquist Nina Conti and award-winning sketch outfit Late Night Gimp Fight.

This year’s Chortle award-winners are naturally well represented, including reigning student champ Adam Hess, best compere Susan Calman, who will be MCing, and club comic nominees Dana Alexander and Hal Cruttenden.

The night is not just about stand-up, as it features music from Jonny & The Baptists, Funk Rocket 5000 and Four Screws Loose; magic from Chris Dugdale and dancers Up & Over It.

Also in the busy line-up at the Leicester Square Theatre are Thomas Nelstrop, John Robins, Luke Benson, Sean McLoughlin, Wes Zaharuk, Jim Campbell, Eddie Lizzard, Danny McLoughlin, Catriona Knox, Paul F Taylor, The Beta Males, Chris Stokes, David Trent, Liam Mullone and Noise Next Door
