Carr keeps chatting

C4 orders third talk show series

Channel 4 has commissioned a third series of Alan Carr’s talk show Chatty Man – before the second has even aired.

The programme returns for a seven-part series next month, including both a Christmas and a New Year special, but executives have already ordered another run early next year.

The first, ten-part series attracted a reasonably healthy 1.9million viewers when it launched in June, though this had slipped to 1.3 million by the end of the run.

In the first series, Carr performed a traditional Greek dance with Peter Andre, played Swingball with Martina Navratilova and perfected his golf swing with Samuel L Jackson .

Last year, Carr signed a two-year contract with Channel 4, lasting until December 2010, amid rumours he had been offered £2million to jump to ITV.

Alan Carr: Chatty Man is produced by Open Mike, and commissioned by Channel 4’s Syeda Irtizaali.
