Panel show for Inbetweeners star

Inbetweeners star Simon Bird is to host his own panel show.

The perennial Chortle Student Comedy Award contestant is to record a pilot episode of the programme, The King Is Dead, later this month.

The premise is that a well-known person – for example, the England football manager – is hypothetically killed off, and the guests choose their replacement from three competing celebrities.

It is expected that, if picked up, the show will air on E4.
