He has tackled TV and the news industry, now Charlie Brooker is to set his sights on video games.

The acerbic host has confirmed on his Twitter account that his is to make Gameswipe – a spin-off from his BBC Four programmes Screenwipe and Newswipe.

He tweeted: ‘Gameswipe is happening, yes. More on that nearer the time.’

He also said that expected to record an end-of-year Screenwipe round-up, and that Newswipe would return in 2010.

Meanwhile, his new Channel 4 comedy quiz show, You Have Been Watching, will begin next month. In the programme, Brooker will lead a panel of four guests, looking at the week's TV both home-grown and from around the world.
