Jimmy Carr court guards suspended

More trouble over photographs

Four courtroom security guards have been suspended for allegedly posing for photographs with Jimmy Carr.

They are to be investigated for alleged gross misconduct after the 36-year-old comic posted a Twitter update about his court appearance on a speeding charge last week.

He wrote that: ‘Weirdly all the security asked for photos. It was very friendly.’

He also posted a photograph of a sign inside Sudbury magistrates court, Suffolk, saying it was illegal to take pictures inside the building – though court officials later said he had actually done nothing wrong as only pictures of people involved in court proceedings are banned.

The four suspended guards are employed by Mitie, the private company that holds the contract for all British courts, Suffolk’s Evening Star reports.

Carr’s case has been adjourned to a date yet to be arranged. He denies the offence.
