On the Street
Ricky Gervais is to appear on children's TV show Sesame Street.
Writing on his blog, the 47-year-old said: ’I've been asked to do Sesame Street - there are some things you don't turn down.’
And in an interview with Time magazine last year, he also said the programme would be ‘a cool thing to do’
‘As long as I'm not sat in a dustbin,’ he added. ‘I don't want to sing a song about the letter C - although, I just thought of one.’
Previous guest stars on Sesame Street have included David Beckham, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro and Alicia Keys.
Meanwhile, Gervais has started work on his next stand-up show, supposedly on the subject of science.
‘Started working on my first twenty-odd minutes of new stand-up,’ he wrote. ‘Just saying it in my head in a quiet room. I've no idea if anyone in the world will find it funny at this stage. Isn't that weird? Just hope and a bit of self-belief.
‘Then you know immediately when you do it in front of a few hundred strangers.
‘At the moment it has less to do with science than Politics had to do with politics. And that's saying something.’
