FX orders its first comedy show
The comedy, due to air in February, will parody multi-channel programming, with spoofs of documentaries, reality shows and 24-hour news channels.
The show has been written by stand-up Pete Cain and Louis Bogue, who has been collaborating with the comic since they both worked in advertising. Their 13-year career has produced campaigns for brands such as British Airways, Carling and Nintendo
Jason Thorp, managing director of Fox International Channels UK, said: ‘Commissioning comedy as a relatively small channel is a huge risk, but the potential upside is plain to see.
‘When you have talent such as Pete and Lou on board however, the odds are in your favour. We hope No Signal will act as a springboard to an expanded commissioning slate next year.
FX, aimed at men between 25 and 44, already imports comedy shows including American Dad, The Colbert Report and Family Guy.
