French & Saunders coming to London
The duo’s farewell show, Still Alive, toured the UK earlier this year, but missed out the capital.
Dawn French now claims: ‘We hadn't intended to come to London but halfway through we were enjoying it so much… We're coming to London in October.’
She made her announcement on Graham Norton’s BBC Two show which airs tonight, but did not reveal the venue. It is believed they will take over the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which is being vacated by Lord Of The Rings in July.
.Last time French and Saunders played London – in 2000 – they were at the Hammersmith Apollo.
French also spoke about writing her memoirs. She said: ‘I'm loving writing. I didn't want to write an autobiography as such, I've written in the form of letters... My granny is 100 years old and we've written to each other since I was 12, I'm used to writing letters.’
