High five!
Alabama Supreme Court has ruled against etiquette teacher Kathie Martin, who unwittingly appeared in his 2006 movie giving him tips on how to behave – before he attended a polite dinner party.
Martin sued Cohen and various companies involved in the production and distribution of the film, claiming she was embarrassed and humiliated by her encounter.
But judges yesterday ruled that Martin had to sue in New York, not in her native state, because she had signed an agreement specifying that as the location for any dispute.
Others who have sued over the movie include South Carolina fraternity members, a Maryland driving instructor, Romanian villagers and a businessman who was shown fleeing from a hug in New York.
