Jim says 'Yes'

Carrey to star in Yes Man movie

Jim Carrey is set to star as the Yes Man, in the Hollywood adaptation of Danny Wallace’s autobiographical book.

Producer David Heyman, the man who was also behind the Harry Potter films, let slip Carrey’s name during an interview with MTV last week.

‘I’ve got this film with Jim Carrey called Yes Man, which I hope will get into production in the fall,’ he said at the LA premiere of Order Of The Phoenix.

The book describes how former comedy critic and producer Wallace transformed his life after a chance encounter with a stranger on a bus persuaded him to say ‘yes’ to absolutely everything.

Writing on Chortle today, Wallace said there is ‘a very big star attached’ but added: ‘I’m not sure I’m allowed to say who just yet, even though the internet apparently disagrees.’

He said: ‘The Yes Man script is very funny, has a great director [Peyton Reed] and excellent producers. It’s going to be funny, though. I’m 90 per cent sure it’ll happen.’

Heyman added: ‘It’s about a man who finds himself very depressed, and is always saying no. When friends ask him out, he always says no. [The film will explore] what happens when he decides to say yes to every thing that comes his way.

‘It’s really funny. It’s one of the funniest scripts I’ve read.’
