Oh God, oh God
The show, which aired Comedy Central on Wednesday and repeated on Thursday, showed the 36-year-old comedian having a one-night stand with the deity, then trying to give him brush-off the morning after.
God, as played by black actor Tucker Smallwood, invites her to spend the day in heaven with him – but Silverman, who is Jewish, keeps making excuses.
Predictably enough, the scene has enraged Christians who say it is offensive, degrading heresy.
Christian group the Timothy Plan, has urged Christians to boycott the network’s parent company, Viacom.
Its president Arthur Ally said: ‘To air and rebroadcast a programme, comedy or not, that depicts the main character having sex with God brings Viacom’s anti-Christian vitriol to an all time low.
‘Christians and culturally conservative Americans alike should be appalled by the sheer blatancy of this heresy.
‘Anyone with any semblance of basic Judeo-Christian values should find this type of programming offensive.’
