Gervais announces 2007 tour dates

Ricky Gervais has announced his tour dates for his next live show, Fame.

The 22-night tour starts in Glasgow on January 8 and takes in Edinburgh, Brighton, Oxford, Cardiff, Manchester, Blackpool, Newcastle, Sheffield, Portsmouth and Bristol before ending in Bournemouth on March 2.

However, Gervais has already promised that extra shows will be added, including a selection of international dates.

The blurb for the show, Gervais’s third, reads: ‘Despite its glamorous title, Fame is probably the purest stand-up of all three. More anecdotal and autobiographical than before it allows Ricky to meander and deconstruct everyday life. Well, everyday life for someone who is famous in nearly 100 countries and hangs out with David Bowie and Ben Stiller.’

Tickets will not go on sale until 10am on Tuesday, December 12.

Before he embarks on his tour, Gervais has four warm-up gigs scheduled in his local theatre, The Bloomsbury in London, on January 3 to 6.
