The full Fawlty
Visitors staying over one of the special Superbreak weekends will be entertained by lookalikes of Basil, Sybil, Polly and Manuel who will recreate slapstick sketches from the sitcom.
Among the hotels taking part are The Gleneagles in Torquay – the establishment whose owner was so rude he inspired John Cleese to write the series. But it’s under new management now.
A spokesman for Superbreak said: ‘Between hilarious comic moments there will be a superb gourmet meal, Manuel serenading with Seventies songs and ultimately Basil and Manuel’s Flamenco masterclass … and keep an eye out for Manuel’s Siberian hamster.’
