America gets Thick
The Thick Of It is being reworked for American audiences, by the team behind the acclaimed comedy Arrested Development.
Award-winning producer Mitchell Hurwitz and writer Richard Day have signed a deal to adapt the BBC Four political satire.
The new show is being developed by Sony, which is currently pitching the idea to the networks.
Series creator Armando Iannucci and BBC Worldwide's Paul Telegdy will be executive producers.
The satire is the latest in a series of BBC programmes crossing the Atlantic. The corporation most recently sold the rights to BBC Three comedy I’m With Stupid to NBC.
The BBC is currently working on a Christmas special of The Thick of It focussing on the Opposition, while star Chris Langham fights his legal case.
