Bring me Lafta
Carr was named best stand-up while Brand was named funniest man. Extras star Ashley Jensen was named funniest woman.
But it was the Friday Night Project which was the biggest winner, being named funniest TV show while its hosts Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr were named best double act.
Being Loaded magazine, not all the winners were traditionally associated with comedy. Charlotte Church was named funniest TV personality ahead of the likes of Jonathan Ross; Radio 1 loudmouth Chris Moyles was named funniest radio show and there was a ‘funniest reality TV personality’ award that went to someone called Paul Danan
Royle Family star Ricky Tomlinson won the Legend award. The 67-year-old said: ‘I'm well chuffed. It's gear. I'd rather get a pat on the back than a smack on the chin. I think it's lovely and I'm made up. I'm quite a sex symbol as you know."
Loaded editor Martin Daubney said: ‘Tthis has been a stonking 12 months for having a laugh. It's good to see so many different comedians and entertainers awarded here."
