Langham in court
'No unsupervised access to under-16s'
Chris Langham has appeared in court today, charged with nine child sex offences and 15 counts of making indecent images of children.
He spoke at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court to confirm his name, age and address and that he understood the proceedings.
The 57-year-old Thick Of It star, from Cranbrook, Kent, was charged with eight counts of indecent assault and one other sex offence.
It is believed that all the alleged nine sex offences relate to one person.
He was released on conditional bail to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 6 in relation to the nine latest charges.
The bail conditions indicated Langham that must not contact three particular people and have no unsupervised access to any person under 16.
Langham was released on unconditional bail in relation to the other 15 counts to appear at the same court on October 2.
Last night, he issued a statement saying: ‘I am determined to clear my name. In view of all the circumstances, I have decided to withdraw from all projects with the BBC until these matters are resolved.’
