Hardee's funeral set

Malcolm Hardee’s funeral is to take place next Thursday.

The stand-up world’s most colourful character will be laid to rest in a private ceremony for family and close friends only in a south-east London crematorium.

However, there will be a funeral service at St Alfege's Church, Greenwich, beforehand, starting at 11.30am

And there will be a wake for him at the Trafalgar Tavern, on the riverfront at Park Row, Greenwich, from 2.30pm.

A tribute benefit gig to raise money for Malcolm's funeral expenses will take place the following Sunday at Up The Creek, the club he founded. For details, visit the club's website.

A bigger tribute may take place in the West End at a later date.

Hardee died last week, slipping from his dinghy traveling between his floating pub, The Wibbly Wobbly, and his houseboat in Rotherhithe.
