...And this is me

Coogan's latest movie role: himself

Steve Coogan has landed yet another movie role - this time playing himself.

The Alan Partridge creator, who is currently filming his first Hollywood blockbuster Around The World In 80 Days, is to appear in a star-studded film from indie director Jim Jarmusch.

Iggy Pop, The White Stripes and Steve Buscemi have also been lined up for parts in Coffee And Cigarettes, a collection of short scenes from the Night On Earth director.

Coogan told Teenmusic.com: "It's very naturalistic, semi-improvised dialogue. All the people play themselves in it.

"I play Steve Coogan, this British comedian who's in New York and wants to try and break into America."

This will be Jarmusch's third Coffee and Cigarettes movie, following two shorts in 1986 and 1989. His first starred American comic Stephen Wright.
