Comic opera heads to West End

Jerry Springer: The Opera is to transfer to the West End as a £3million production.

Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas's show will be the first original musical to transfer from the National Theatre in its 41-year history.

It will now open at the Cambridge Theatre on Tuesday October 14, producers Avalon Promotions and Allan McKeown have announced. Tickets go on sale on Sunday. Click here to buy.

Its run at the South Bank has been extended twice, and has been widely praised by critics. (Chortle review) Even Liam Gallagher said it was: "The best f**cking thing I have ever seen."
