And on that bombshell...

Coogan calls time on Partridge

Steve Coogan says he won't be making another series of I'm Alan Partridge.

But the inept Norfolk DJ will be back for a one-off special at Easter.

Speaking at a charity fundraiser, Coogan also claimed his show was funnier than The Office.

He said: "There won't be another series. It's time for me to do something new, before everyone thinks I am Alan Partridge.

"I've had a great time playing Alan and I had no idea how successful he would be, but it has to end now.

"It took five years to write this series," he said. "That's probably why it's a bit better than The Office."

However, it's not the first time Coogan has vowed not to return to Partridge - when he completed the 1997 series, he said that he felt he could do no more with the character.
