No laughing matter

Furious hoax victims slam Brass Eye

Phil Collins is consulting his lawyers after Chris Morris hoodwinked him into backing for a phoney anti-paedophile campaign.

He's just one of the furious celebrities, including Richard Blackwood and DJ Dr Fox, who have slammed the Brass Eye show that aims to lampoon the sensational media coverage of the subject.

Collins, who is seen in the show sporting a Nonce Sense T-shirt, said: "I think the presenters of this programme have some serious taste problems when it comes to picking subjects from parody."

"Unfortunately this will probably now affect many celebrities' willingness to support public spirited causes in the future and it's not difficult to see why."

Blackwood, who was reportedly duped into warning children that paedophiles can make toxic vapours rise from their computer keyboards, said: "Well I guess the joke is on us and also on every other charity working in the field of child protection. If you think that kiddie porn is funny you should have a good laugh."

The show, pulled from the schedules earlier this month, will now be shown on Channel 4 next Thursday.
