Comedy writer Richard Curtis has been named as one of the 10 most powerful people in the British media.
The Guardian placed the writer of such hits as Blackadder, Mr Bean and Four Weddings and a Funeral 10th in the list of the 100 most influential people.
The paper said of 44-year-old Curtis, who also the driving force behind Comic Relief: "If you think that British comedy writing is in a shoddy state, then imagine what it would be like without the input of Richard Curtis.
"The laughter-free broadcast industry must be wishing there were more of him."
Rupert Murdoch topped the list.
