Closing the lid on Baskets
Zach Galifianakis’s clown comedy Baskets is to end after its current fourth series.
America’s FX network has announced that the episode airing on August 22 in the States will be the show's last.
‘Over four seasons, Baskets has taken its place among the great FX comedies as an endearing and hilarious look at the dreams and ambition of Chip Baskets and his extended, loving family,’ said FX Entertainment president Eric Schrier. 'This show has been a joy.'
In the series, Galifianakis stars as both Chip Baskets – whose attempts to be a professional clown in Paris ended in failure, leaving him to find work as a rodeo clown in California – and his twin brother Dale
Co-star Louie Anderson won an Emmy in 2016 for his supporting role as Chip and Dale’s mother, Christine.
The show was co-created by Louis CK – although he stepped away from the production when his sexual misconduct became public in 2017.
The first three seasons of Baskets have aired on Fox in the UK.
