Rosie Jones nets a fishing series
It worked for Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer... and now Rosie Jones is to make a fishing series for LGBTQ+ streaming service OUTflix.
The seven-part series, Get Hooked, is being made by the broadcaster along with Canadian production company Accessible Media, which specialises in programmes with a disability focus.
It is described as ‘a fresh take on how members of the queer, Black, Indigenous and disability community turn the mental health benefits of fishing into pure joy’.
Jones previously tried fishing in Shropshire with Kemah Bob as part of the 2020 Channel 4 series Mission: Accessible, pictured above.

Get Hooked is one of a number of commissions announced today by the platform, which is known as OUTtv outside of the UK and Ireland.
Other shows include Settle Down!, a scripted comedy about a matchmaker working with the queer community; Wish You Were Queer which follows stand-ups Michael Henry and Tim Murray on the road in North America and reality TV series reality television, Drag House Rules.
Philip Webb, chief operating officer of OUTtv, said: ‘Our slate of upcoming original commissions ranges from bold and hilarious comedies, to warm and honest documentaries – programming both for and by queer people that is quintessentially OUTtv and gives our audiences more of what they want to see.
‘These latest additions to our diverse global offering represent and celebrate each corner of the community, and it’s great to continue working alongside long-standing production partners to bring these authentic stories to life.’
OUTflix is available as a £4.99 a month add-on to Amazon’s Prime Video or Apple TV.
