Frank Skinner's radio show to return
Frank Skinner’s radio show is to return, six months after it was unceremoniously axed by Absolute Radio.
The programme will now be a twice-weekly podcast and again feature co-hosts Emily Dean and Pierre Novellie.
Skinner said: ‘It’s like in those old movies when the kids get rejected by the big theatre and one of them says "why don’t we do the show right here in the barn?" | I think the barn will suit us fine.’
The show ran on Absolute for 15 years, winning four industry-leading Aria Awards, while the associated podcast was downloaded more than 100 million times.
In March, Skinner shocked fans by announced his axe while on air, with his final show coming a few weeks late.
At the time he said: ‘’We had a good run but I realise that in recent times I am ever-more becoming Grandad from The Simpsons
‘But even so, I’m not going to pretend I took it… well I took it well in that we’ve had 15 years and Absolute have actually been very, very good to us in those 15 years but I didn’t take it well.
‘I took it well in the way David Tennant took it well as the 10th Doctor when he started to regenerate and said, "I don’t want to go!"'
Frank Skinner Off The Radio, The Frank Skinner Podcast will start from Friday, produced by Avalon in association with Adelicious.
It will be available on all mainstream podcast platforms. Listeners can contact the show through Frank’s socials and the Frankofftheradio email address.
