Kids' show for Men In Coats
A new children’s comedy series is to be launched based on the Men In Coats double act.
Creator Mick Dow is currently developing a 13-part series with Wallace & Gromit producers Aardman Animations, with a pilot in production.
The 15-minute episodes, aimed at children aged seven to 11, will mix live-action with surreal magic and camera trickery.
New CBBC controller Damian Kavanagh said: ‘Men in Coats will be a welcome addition to our stable of live action comedy.’
Miles Bullough, head of broadcast at Aardman told industry website Broadcast: ‘The Men in Coats is an exciting departure for us.’
The series will follow the adventures of Mik and Moe, who wear snorkel parkers and never speak, as is the tradition in their fictional homeland of Wursturg. The series follows their attempts to cope with British life.
