John Bishop pilots BBC quiz show

Test episode of Wisdom Of The Crowd being shot next week

John Bishop is piloting a new BBC quiz show from the makers of The 1% Club,

Wisdom Of The Crowd is described as being ‘all about making educated guesses’, with producers Magnum Media adding: ‘Think of a "guess how many sweets are in a jar" competition but on a big Saturday night TV show scale.’

A pilot episode is being filmed at MediaCity in Salford next Tuesday, following a run-through the previous day – neither are intended for broadcast. The producers are looking for contestant to take part to apply  via SRO Audiences.

Footage of a US pilot of the same name, made on a cheap-looking virtual set and featuring footage of David Beckham, was posted on social media almost a decade ago. Watch it here.

As well as The 1% Club, Magnum also made the Sky1 panel show Duck Quacks Don’t Echo also hosted by Lee Mack.
