Ian Smith to make his Have I Got News For You debut
After 20 appearance on Radio 4's News Quiz
Ian Smith will make his debut on Have I Got News For You next month.
The comic will appear on the second episode of the 69th series, which will air on April 11.
He has appeared 20 times on The News Quiz, and even guest hosted an episode last year, and has worked as a writer on the topical Radio 4 show.
Smith will appear opposite journalist Helen Lewis, a staff writer at The Atlantic - the magazine whose editor Donald Trump’s advisers accidentally included inaccurate group chat discussing plans to bomb Yemen.
As previously announced, Martin Clunes will guest host the episode.
Next Friday’s opening edition will be presented by Alexander Armstrong, with Phil Wang and Steph McGovern as guests.
