Alison Spittle gets even...
Alison Spittle is to settle some old scores in a new Radio 4 series.
The Irish comedian is said to hold ‘an unusual number of grudges’ – and her new show, Petty Please she ‘tracks down those who have wronged her, and tries to get them to make amends’.
However, the makers of the series – to be recorded in front of a live audience in September – insist: ‘She's not bitter - she's just got a very long memory, and a deep sense of justice.’
The comedian previously put a call-out on X for fans to share ‘the pettiest grudge you've ever held’ for possible inclusion in the series.
She previously hosted the BBC podcast Wheel of Misfortune, and wrote and starred in the TV sitcom Nowhere Fast for Irish broadcaster RTE in 2017
Petty Please is being made by Mighty Bunny, the production company run by former BBC producers Lyndsay Fenner and Victoria Lloyd, whose other programmes include Jessica Fostekew’s Sturdy Girls Club, James Acaster’s Springleaf podcast, Catherine Bohart’s topical show TL;DR – which has a full run on Radio 4 this summer following a successful pilot last year.
Spittle’s show is being recorded at the Up The Creek comedy club in Greenwich, South London, on September 23 and 30. Free audience tickets are available here.
