New look at forthcoming ITV comedy G’wed
ITV has released this new clip of its upcoming comedy G’wed, about a group of young working-class Liverpudlians.
The broadcaster says the series ‘firmly uses Liverpool’s distinctive voice to delve into working-class culture and offer up an uplifting, heart-warming and hilarious portrayal of teenagers today and how they view the world…
‘G’wed isn’t shy of tackling big issues like grief, sex, diversity and class differences, all with a wicked sense of humour.’
The series – which starts on February 5 – stars a cast of unknowns and was created by created by first-time TV writer Danny Kenny
He has said: ‘Being from a working-class background I’m fascinated by how your upbringing can shape you, so it’s really important to me that the show challenges stereotypes.
‘ I want each character to constantly surprise, reflecting a more genuine and well-rounded take on the people of Liverpool.’
It revolves around Reece, a superficially misbehaving, potty-mouthed lad who knows more than he lets on and to Aimee, a ferociously determined, go-getting and emotionally mature teemager.
This is the second clip to be released after this one was distributed when casting was announced in November.
