New comedy film starring Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley

Here’s a trailer for the forthcoming  Olivia Colman film Wicked Little Letters, which Deadline has alread called ‘the British comedy of the year’.

Set in a 1920s English seaside town, the movie is about a pious woman who begins to receive scandalous letters full of profanities.

Rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley) is the prime suspect, and a trial ensues. But as the town’s women - led by police officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) - begin to investigate the crime, they suspect Rose may not be the culprit after all.

Timothy Spall, Hugh Skinner and Gemma Jones co-star in the film, which was written by comic Jonny Sweet and  is due to be released on February 23.
