On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

Brett Goldstein introduced Americans to some British slang on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night.

The comic and Ted Lasso star Phrases like 'do one', 'telling porkies' or 'to make a right pig's ear of something'.

Although the producers research might have been a bit dodgy, as they apparently thought 'did you just fluff' and 'you're all bum and parsley' are in common parlance here.

And pandering to the CBS viewership Goldstein  used the Americanism, 'take the cake' rather than the British 'take the biscuit' when setting up the Getting the Slang Of It  segment:
