Darren Harriott channels Peaky Blinders
Comedian Darren Harriott channels Peaky Blinders gangster Tommy Shelby in this video shown to spectators at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
In the spoof created by Sport Relief, Darren coveys housekeeping information such as identifying emergency exists, and the dangers of flash photography –and also help raise money for Sport Relief.
The stand-up said: ‘When a Peaky Blinder presents an opportunity, you listen…especially when it comes to housekeeping. It’s fantastic to be involved.
Harriott will also be taking part in the Sport Relief All-Star Games, in which two teams from the world of sport and entertainment take on five genuine sports from the competition. It airs on BBC One at 7pm on Monday, with fellow comics Russell Kane, Tom Rosenthal and Suzi Ruffell also taking part.
Harriott added: ‘When Sport Relief first get in touch, you think to yourself…here we go, which ex-athlete or celebrity are they going to ask me to do something ridiculous against now, all for a bit of fun for charity.
‘Well, it turns out that was the case, and I’ve somehow ended up signing myself up to a 4x100 metres relay in front of a packed-out Alexander Stadium.’
‘It’s a really difficult time for so many people right now, so we’re extremely grateful to every single person who is able to donate. Knowing that donations will make such a difference right here in Birmingham, across the UK, and around the world is a wonderful thing.’
