Comic backs Channel 4's LGBTQ+ campaign
Tom Allen has recored a promotional video for Channel 4 marking the 50th anniversary of the Pride movement.
The broadcaster is highlighting more than 80 events around the nation, under the banner Proud All Over – with the message that people don’t have to travel to big cities to celebrate.
Allen’s trailer will air on TV from tomorrow Saturday 25 June and be backed with a poster campaign tailored to local communities with straplines such as ‘Queer as Folkestone’ and ‘Llanelli – May Cause Excitement in Your Wetlands’.
Channel 4’s Pride activities culminate in a weekend of LGBTQ+ themed programmes from Thursday June 30 to Monday July 4 – including special editions of Gogglebox, First Dates and Steph’s Packed Lunch plus Joe Lycett’s Big Pride Party live from Birmingham on Sunday July 3.
