The investigations into the January. 6 assault on the US Capitol made prime-time viewing in America last night.

And perhaps to make the stories of insurrection and violence a little more palatable, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert gave it a snazzy showbiz introduction – courtesy of the Muppet Show.
