Michael Che and Colin Jost on Weekend Update

Saturday Night Live tackled the difficult job of making jokes about war last night.

'It’s a tough subject to make jokes about,'  Weekend Update host Michael Che admitted during the segment on Ukraine. 'In my lifetime I’ve seen footage of attacks like this on other countries – but never a white one.'

His co-presenter  Colin Jost set the tone at the top of the update, joking: 'President Putin launched the attack with support from allies like Belarus and Tucker Carlson' – the Trump loyalist Fox News anchor. 

Last night's SNL broadcast also featured a raft of guest stars, including Paul Rudd, Elliott Gould, Tina Fey, Steve Martin, and Conan O’Briem.
