Sacha Baron Cohen collects his MTV Comedic Genius Award
Sacha Baron Cohen reprised both Borat and Ali G to receive his MTV Comedic Genius Award last night.
The comic first took to the stage as his Kazakh alter-ego to accept the award - a golden tub of popcorn - following the success of the Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
After being introduced by Seth Rogen, Borat said: 'Thank you Prince Harry. I'm very excited to be on this brand new music television channel.
'I'm very happy to be accepting this cup of gold teeth instead of Sacha Brian Cohens and will put it in our national museum along with other treasure we have confiscated from Jews. High five!'
But Borat was interrupted by Ali G who said: 'We should be accepting this award not you. I was the original gangster. The OG," said Ali G'
Then Cohen stepped in as himself, asking his alter-egos to leave.
'Is it because I is black?' Ali G inevitably asked.
'You are not black.. you are a white suburban kid who's co-opted black culture,' Cohen explained, lest anyone was still confused about the character's basis.
"Thank you MTV. To the millions of fans out there who voted for me, I salute you,' Cohen said. 'This is yours, I'd be nothing without you. I'm so humbled by this. I'm just a human being creating complex nuanced characters, sophisticated tools to expose...."
But Cohen's serious speech got cut off by Brüno, his fashionista alter-ego, wearing a woolen jumpsuit, complete with knitted appendages...
