To coincide with the publication of his memoirs

Lenny Henry has shared some advice for aspiring comedians.

The comic said he was moved to compile the tips for his new memoirs, Who Am I, Again? after mentoring a new stand-up.

He said: 'It's not easy being a comic - you either know how to do it or not.

'First advice: sit down and think what's funny to you... make a note of all you find funny and put it under category headings.'

His tips ranged from what clothes to wear to how to get into the right head space before a gig.
