100 Reasons To Hate The Theatre

According to Ian Smith

Comic Ian Smith has launched an angry rant against the theatre, dubbing it ‘the pretentious man’s television’.

He rails against everything from the price of confectionery to patronising ushers in the new web series 100 Reasons To Hate…

And the video has been released by Turtle Canyon Comedy to coincide with World Theatre Day today.

Producer and director Stuart Laws said: ‘It’s a silly, punchy series that involves Ian shouting a lot and is a counterpoint to our other, calmer web series I Love…’

Future episodes will look at technology, social media, relaxation and Easter while three mini-episodes about Facebook, Twitter, Instagram will be released on those platforms only.

Smith wrote he diatribe with fellow stand-up David Callaghan, and two writers found under a new talent scheme run by Turtle Canyon: Briony Puddepha and Chortle student Comedy Award finalist Rhiannon Shaw.
