Former co-stars plead with Steve Carell

The cast of The Office are begging Steve Carell to reboot the US sitcom.

But sadly only in a sketch for Saturday Night Live that mocks how often people ask if the NBC adaptation of Ricky Gervais’ and Stephen Merchant's comedy will ever be coming back.

Ellie Kemper, who has gone on to greater fame as Kimmy Schmidt capture the mood of her castmates Ed Helms and Jean Fischer when she said: 'Hi Steve! People would really love to see an Office reboot Especially me because I need that money! Let’s get that money, Steve.'

There has been speculation that the show â€" which ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013 â€" will be rebooted, but the chances seem slim.
