Rod Hull goes swimming

Unseen sketch from This Morning With Richard Not Judy

Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of the first broadcast of This Morning With Richard Not Judy – Stewart Lee and Richard Herring's Sunday morning comedy show.

To mark the occasion, here's a sketch in which Kevin Eldon played 'Rod Hull' that was never aired on the BBC Two show .

The character was a version of the kids' TV presenter with an addiction to jelly who would always insist on wearing a fake arm that he'd insist was real. He had previously appeared in Lee and Herring's earlier series First Of Fun.

But for the second season of TMWRNJ, a new series of sketches was filmed in which the character would attempt various activities, in which he would always wind up dead because of his refusal to admit he had a false arm.

However the skits were dropped when the real Rod Hull died just before the start of the series, falling from a roof while trying to adjust a TV aerial .

Here he visits a swimming pool, all for a bowl of that delicious, delicious jelly...
