Love Song for Jeremy Corbyn
Jeremy Corbyn is getting married for the fourth time … at least in a new comedy skit.
Stand-up Ariane Sherine ties the knot with the Labour leader in a music video for her Love Song for Jeremy Corbyn.
In it, she seduces a Corbyn lookalike – comedy blogger John Fleming – and has his baby, only for the love affair to go terribly wrong when she realises he still fancies Diane Abbott.
Sherine is best known for creating the Atheist Bus Campaign in 2009, using the slogan: ‘There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.
In real life, she married the video’s editor Graham Nunn last month, but said she still harbours a secret desire for the Labour leader. ‘But if I can’t have him, a Labour win next Thursday would come a close second. If it were an election for the most lovable politician, he’d win hands down. After all, can anyone imagine a Love Song for Theresa May?’
In reality, Corbyn has been married to Mexican-born Laura Álvarez, who runs a fair-trade coffee import business and keeps away from the limelight, since 2013.
