The Big Sick trailer

With Kumail Nanjiani and Ray Romano

Kumail Nanjiani has released a new trailer for his movie The Big Sick.

The comedy is based on the real-life courtship of the Silicon Valley star and his wife Emily – negotiating cultural differences and a mysterious illness that leaves Emily in a coma.

Nanjiani introduces the trailer with Everybody Loves Raymond star Ray Romano , who plays Emily's father. Holly Hunter plays her mum.

The Big Sick will get its international premiere at the London Sundance Film Festival on June 3 and 4.

It was first shown at the original Sundance festival in Utah where it was praised by critics. Variety‘s Geoff Berkshire called it 'a film that’s by turns romantic, rueful, and hilarious' and Vulture's Tomris Laffly said:  'This movie has empathy on its mind as much as comedy, and it’s simply a joy to see it excel at both.'

Comics Bo Burnham and Kurt Braunohler also make an appearance in the film, which is produced by Judd Apatow.
