Tim Vine – Original Review

Review by Steve Bennett

A brilliantly silly act, Vine's quickfire puns are a guaranteed winner - and not necessarily because of their quality. A large proportion of the gags are so painfully contrived that they would shame the average Victorian music hall turn, as Vine acknowledges, but these are mixed with enough genuinely inspired gems to make it work, and work well. The pace is relentless, too, so that even the most hard-hearted comedy-goer will yield to the onslaught. Fantastic stuff.
